Also her gums look darker than normal... she is tierd all the time and feels sick what could this be please help thanks

I suggest you take her to your physician and also book an appointment with your dental hygienist to have her teeth cleaned. She should have blood work done to rule out diabetes.

I also took her to the doctors this morning because of her feeling sick and tierd.he suggested maybe it is because she is due to start her periods which could well be as she is in puberty and as been for a while.unfortunatly I didn't mention her teeth as I did not find this problem until later on in the day.but I am curious as to whether it could be Systemic causes: Gingivitis also commonly occurs at puberty, during menstruation and pregnancy, and at menopause, presumably because of hormonal changes. Similarly, oral contraceptives may exacerbate inflammation which I found on the internet?? Cause if what the doctor said was true then this would link the problems.. thank you so much for your help x a worried mom

She needs to go to the dentist, if her gums are bleeding when she brushes, her gums are infected and she needs to get them cleaned, make sure that she is brushing her teeth twice a day, if not after each meal. When does brush her teeth, massage her gums gently as well, it will get all of the bacteria out too. There is space under the gum on the teeth that will hold bacteria, that is also why it is good to floss.

Have your daughter's teeth professionally cleaned. If she is still getting blood with brushing and the gums are swollen and a darker colour then have the blood work done.

You are right about hormones affecting the gum tissues some women do get gum tenderness and inflammation just before and/or during their menses. If you think this might be the case, wait until her period is over and then check the gums. If they are no different see your doctor.

Don't let your doctor brush it off as puberty if the problem persists. Is there any history of diabetes in your or her father"s family?

Your daughter is 10 I hope she's not on oral contraceptives!

Not sure about the diabetis to be honest god no she isn't on nothing the thought of her getting periods is bad enough.she as a dentist app for today so hopefully I can get this resolved thank you so much for advice

I know that can also mean vitamin and mineral deficiencies, I think some B vitamins, zinc and some others.
