    Identical modems on windows2000 server
    Hi,
I have recently purchased 2 identical US robotics modem and planning to install it on a windows 2000 server with SP3. As soon as I install the second modem OS picks up the drivers and ends up with a blue screen.

I tried to swap slots on my intel motherboard just to see it I can make it work. Unfortunately could not find any solution.

Is this a known issue with windows 2000 server or am I doing something wrong.

Kindly provide me help with your expert advices.

    Thank you
    Ali

When you have these conflicts make sure you that as you boot you enter into the BIOS setup.

If your BIOS sees the hardware then 2000 will see it as well.

Now even if it looks like nothing changed in the BIOS save the settings anyway.
Turn off computer take one modem out.
Reboot with the other one in (only one modem in.)

Now that windows configured itself now turn off again.

Now reboot and make sure everythign was found then turn off system and put second card in.

Other possibilities why you get blue screens is that you ran out of open IRQ's.

You might have to set them manually.
