Dying hair red - Keeping colour in
Every time I dye my hair red, the colour washes out and goes ginger.
Anyone know how to keep the colour in?

Unfortunately red is the hardest colour to keep. I love the colour but it goes right back to blond in about three weeks.

What type of hair dye are you using? Is it permanent or wash out?

I've done red, never had a problem.

Have you tried getting it professionaly done?

I guess you're meant to have ginger hair. ;)

I'd kill for ginger, can't get it, even out of a bottle, my hair is too dark.

    Sorry, wish I could help.

You don't want my hair, trust me. It's thick, it's unruly and it's naturally poo brown. ;)

It costs a lot to color it because it's also long.

No thanks necessary, I didn't help.

Enjoy your ginger hair. We always want what we can't have. ;)

Use freezing cold water and colour safe shampoo when washing and refrain from too much straightening :)

Red is one of the most difficult colours to maintain. But you can keep it looking red by using colour enhancing shampoos & conditioners. John Frieda do one, think it's called Radiant Red? These colour enhancing products have a little bit of colour in them which does refresh the hair colour.

Perhaps try them out and see if it works out OK for you.
