International student forgot to file 8843 for previous year
    Hello

I have been in the US as an international student since 2005 fall, and am still currently enrolled. I had no income in the year 2007, and didn't file the corresponding 8843 in the year 2008, as no one in our school had told us about it, I have just filed my 8843 for this year though ( as I didn't have any income in the year 2008 as well), what steps do I need to take to file the 8843 for the year 2007? As I don't want it to cause any problems later on whilst applying for my permanent residency.

    Thanks

Just download the Form 8843 for 2007, complete it, sign it and mail it to:

    DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY
    INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE
    AUSTIN, TX 73301

Better late than never! There will be no adverse consequences to filing late.
