    Photosensitive Skin
My dermatologist says I have a photosensitive skin. My face is much darker than the rest of my body:o and I can not bear the heat of the sun. He prescribed Hydroquinone USP, 4% which I used but there is no difference after a month. Is there anything stronger than this and would I need a new prescription for it?

Products that contain up to 2% hydroquinone may be sold over-the-counter without a prescription, and prescription skin-lightening products may contain up to 4% hydroquinone. Anything higher than 4% hydroquinone will damage your skin. Some products can take a few months to be effective. If you don't see any improvement, please talk to your dermatologist. The dermatologist can prescribe another treatment to help even out your skin tone.
