Air and heat come on at same time
I could use any help that I can get. The only way that my air will come on is if I cut on the heating on the fusebox panel, and then the heat and the air will come on. I put in a new thermostat but the only way that anything will work is if I cut on the heat. With the air fuse on it does not work. I would appreciate any help.

The thermostat controls heat, cool and fan(s), misswiring can cause it to try and heat and cool at the same time.
    Would check thermostat wiring?

No, I didn't put a jumper, I just reconnected it the same way it was-should I do something different?

Were you having this problem before you replaced the thermostat? If not, perhaps the new thermostat is configured or intended for a heat pump system.

Yes, I was having this problem before I changed thermostats- I just checked the wires(4) and they are all in the right place. The new thermostat works perfectly now, it's just when I cut the air off on it the heat still stays on. And the only way all of it stays on is if I flip the heat fuse on the fusebox.

I looked at the wires to see if I could disconnect the one that controls the heat, but that didn't work either. It seems no matter what I do, the heat just won't go off unless I cut it all off at the fusebox. It's supposed to reach 100 degrees tomorrow so I sure could use some input! Thanks!:)

Controls the fan and the heat on your furnace, probably stuck causing the heat and the fan to stay on.
