    Colonizing Deserts
I've heard of desertification, where farmers (people) have literally exhausted soil to the point of it turning into a desert, but my question is, can humans take back the desert, like the Sahara and make it fertile?

Sure. Add water and enrich the sand into fertile soil.

Ah Wondergirl? I didn't know that... However, I guess that much much water will be required.
