    Vegan can't lose weight.
According to a BMI calculator I have 27 pounds to lose

My husband and I decided to go vegan for health reasons. I don't eat un-healthy. I home cook all but maybe 1 or 2 meals a week. I have not eaten any cheese, dairy, meat, etc for a nearly a month. I don't just eat potatoes I make sure that my diet is pretty well rounded and that I'm getting enough protein and things like that. My husband lost 10 pounds quick. I have not lost a thing.

No one understands why. It's not like I snack on oreos and fritos (both vegan). I did have a baby not quite 3 months ago. I try to be as active as possible with a baby but I can't exercise every day. I probably work out 2 to 3 times a week depending on how my son's day is going.

Someone asked me one time why all the vegetarians they knew were fat.
I always heard that vegetarians have to make up for their protein with nuts and so forth.

Lately I have been hearing they also need carnitine.
I don't know how much of what you eat but make sure you get enough protein and carnitine.

    Carnitine

Weight management: Healthy weight loss, diet supplement, appetite suppressant, dietary suppressant, reduce food cravings, lose weight, weight management programme, cellfood weight management, Citrin K, L-Carnitine, weight loss for dummies.

Also read the labels on everything you buy.
The longer and more unfamilar the list is the more likely it is not good for you.
Many health bars and sports drinks that say they contain things like taurine and ginseng also contain synthetic chemicals. Also when they say added or fortified with calcium and vitamins these are usually synthetic rather than organic.
Man made foods causes weight problems because they do not feed your body at the cellular level and slow your metabolism.

Just to let you know, just because you've become a veggie doesn't mean you'll get skinny. It's true, eating vegan does cut down a lot of the fats that "regular" people would eat.

It's really all about how many calories you consume a day and how much you burn a day. Little fact; men burn more calories than women do.

If anything you should add fresh fruits and more veggies and learn how to cook tofu. Mock chicken isn't the best for you-- most of that man-made crap is well crap. Hummus is also a great thing to start eating, very delicious and high in iron.

If your going to eat vegan I would suggest eating food that is closest to how it's natural state; i.e. a baked potato versus french fries.

Here are some websites that can help you with your decision to become a veggie.

VegWeb.com - Vegan Recipes and Cooking Tips
    GoVeg.com: Vegetarian and Vegan Information
    Fatfree Vegan Recipes

These are sites that I use myself.

Well potatoes are the last thing you want to eat on your vegan diet, so are oreos and fritos. Don't think about what is vegan think about what is nourishing your body! Give yourself lots of green veggies daily, lots! And lots of fruits! Take supplements, multi vitamins. Two good weight loss supplements are hoodia (tells your brain your not hungry) and Conjugated Linoleic Acid-CLA(keeps fat cells from enlarging) anyway stay away from boxed foods, stick to organic and lots of veggies and fruits and tons of water! Also try juicing! Its fast and easy and amazing for the bod

Hmm, have you tried supplementing your diet primarily with a healthy variety of vegetables? I found eating a lot of vegetables helped me with my diet. Though, I hated vegetables to begin with. Then I started looking for vegetable recipes to find something tasty. There are a lot of recipes from some sites. My favorite is plusrecipes.com. They have all sorts of vegetable recipes that are really delicious. Hmm, maybe you should try it yourself to see if it helps with your diet; here's the link directly to the grilled-vegetable section of plusrecipes.com:

I hope you find it to be very helpful. Good luck losing the weight.
