    Yes. It serves as a platform for us to exist on. Was this an intended purpose? I don't know. Something made the big bang go off.

    As a deist, I believe that some intelligent force created the universe. I therefore have to suspect they had some reason for doing so.

    By the way this world is turning out, I would say that purpose was one cosmic joke. :D
