    Check Signal Cable
I have an old Dell desktop with Samsung monitor. I had done a msconfig to stop some programs from auto start at update: Adobe, Quick Time, etc. When I told the computer to restart, it did so , but when it restarted I am getting a red box that says No Connection, and Check Signal Cable.
I wonder if it needs a restore? But, if the computer won't boot at all, how do I do that? I remember something from ages past about starting in safe mode. Would this help me undo? If so, how do I get to that? I have forgotten.
    Thanks

First, please pay more attention to posting rules. This was moved from Forum Help that is clearly marked as only for questions about using this site.

It sounds like a hardware problem. Check the cable but your video adapter may be blown.
