    Does anyone know about the law in canada?
    Does canada have a statue of limitations for robbery or theft?

    What province? And yes, after a certain number of years you can't be taken to court for a robbery, unless there is a warant our for your arrest.

    Because... I was caught shoplifting a couple times in 98/99.. Been back in the states since 00.wanna go back for a vacation but am paranoid about crossing the border.never went to court.

    I don't believe there is any statute of limitations in this case, you were charged with these robberies and ran from the law. You might want to consider talking to a lawyer in your area and seeing if they can check if you have warrants in Canada
