There is no one who would know the back ground of this. I have a birth certificate. It has no information on it. The only thing that we know is that my grandmother died at 49 and the family went it seperate ways. My family was protestant, but I was born in one city and raised in another. I beleive that I was in foster care where I was born not raised. That is a two hour drive from where I am now.

Hmmm, so there are no names on the birth certificate, such as a midwife's or hospital's? Is your grandmothr's name searchable on the Internet? I'm a librarian and just can't believe there isn't some piece of information that can be useful for searching. Write down everything you know about your family -- first and last names, cities, countries of origin, etc. Could you afford to hire a detective to work on this? There is a book available,
How To Find Anyone Anywhere : A Professional Manual For Skip Tracers and Missing Persons by Ralph Thomas, or books with similar titles. Visit your library which will interlibrary loan a copy if it doesn't own one.
