    Kaballah and christianity
I stopped going to church I year ago I found it to be a complete waste of time. Prior to that I went every week and gave large sums of money to the church 500-1000 dollars on many occasions. When going to church I always felt closer to god when I was actually in the building. Once I left the church that high was gone, till the following Sunday when I went back.

I discovered kaballah ( which is a spiritual teaching and bot a religion) now I feel god is always with me he is in me and I am god, that's why we where all created in his likeness.

My question is how do I explain to my christian friends that jesus christ is not my lord and saviour, without them taking offense?

Also how do I avoid their invitations to the church on a constant basis without sounding rude?

How can I tell them that god is in your heart and you don't need to go to a church or belong to a religion to be close to him.

I am the most happiest I've been since I left the church, I meditate every Saturday and try to surround myself with the light of the creator.

Why do you not believe in Jesus? Does he not teach the same things you describe? Why would you give so much money?
God is everywhere, within all of us. We are all his creation. I do not think it was so much the church but just you yourself needed something different and a new perspective about yourself for feeling God within you at all times. It is not the churches fault, but something that was within you... Everybody has there own personal spiritual walk to make.

couldn't agree with you more Joe. I never said that I don't believe in jesus, quit the opposite, its just that my views have changed in the following ways.

    1) I believe that jesus did exsist and he was all powerful, sweet and he emulates what we are all striving to achieve which is oneness with God.

2.) I see jesus as the highest of the high in my kabahlistic beliefs, his greatest parable was to " love thy neighbor as thyself" and that is what are I'm striving to do.

3.) jesus does not solve our problems we do, I still do believe in jusus its just that my views on him have changed. He is not my saviour I am my own saviour, and it's the church that insist on putting jesus in the middle of our relationship with god as has branded him as our lord and saviour and its only through him salvation comes and that is where I disagree with the churches doctrine.

4)I believe the churches propaganda is what has led the masses astray, in thinking that we need to belong to a religion to believe in God.

    5) Church and religion is what divides all human beings in this lifetime and it also limits us to the rules and moral obligation of the set religion.

    6) how we live by jesus teaching and love thy neighbour when we disagree or dislike their spiritual beliefs.

7.) I see jesus as a master kabahlist

Religion is the cause of so many wars and conflict if everyone just believed in God with out the banner of religion this world would be a better place.

I have found my happiness with meditation and connecting to the light force of God and as the bible stated jesus often meditated and fasted to connect to the light of God. To me there is no better spiritual high than being in the presence of god, mind body and soul, it's a high and a light that beams within you, that no preacher can ever find the words to preach to allowing you to enter into such an overwhelming interaction with the creator.

So I ask you now who do you think emulates the spirit of God the most a person that meditates and connects to Gods light or a christian that goes to church and follows the motions of the church and leaves the church feeling empty inside and no better than when the first came into the church. As human beings we just want a connection with God.

I am more happy now not going to church than I have ever been in my life and the money I use to give to the church I now give more to homeless people and charity. I also value human beings more and every hardship I face now I know its all part of my souls correction and destiny in this life.

    Hey Lady!
We are continuously being processed. Thank goodness that his mercy is new w/ each day!
I'm glad to hear your love for the Lord & Saviour, Jesus!;)

Me personally, I created my very own religion w/out knowing it.
I remember going to church & feeling that the "pastor" was talking 'bout me 'cause my folks told my business... lol... I remember that the Pastor's wife pointed at me while preaching.
I did not return to church for 3years.

NEVER realizing that the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus sent to us after he was resurrected & can only say what the Father says, was speaking to me & my situation.

God is so Loving that he sent HIS only begotten Son to redeem me unto HIM while I was yet and from time to time... daily perhaps was in sin.

It was when I explained to my brother that he did not need to read the OLD Testament only the New Testament.

Because I had been told the same thing...

THAT HOUR... God impressed upon me for me to read His Word... Old & New.

Of course... I had never done that before, didn't know how to, understand, etc... had every excuse.

I started that night... it's amazing how He walked me through showing me His LOVE & HIS Son... amongst other things. Like how I had in fact created my own religion dressed up in HIS words & my works because NO ONE would ever again make me feel as though I failed God.

His Mercy & Grace & the Love He showed through no other than Jesus, His only Begotten Son learned me that through the Gift freely given from our Father, Jesus Christ, He paid for my sins. Redeeming me back to Hisself because I could not do it... Nor could it be done through traditional ways of sacrifices that had become a stench to him because our hearts are most deceitful.

    God, Jehovah, said:

    Jeremiah 16:21
"Therefore I will teach them— this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD.

    Deuteronomy 30:19
19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life

    1 Timothy 4:7

7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

    Micah 5:2

    The Coming Messiah
2 “ But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
    From everlasting.”

    Matthew 17:5
5While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"

    John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

From what I understand there are different types of kaballah. Zohar is the one to learn.
Madonna's kaballah is more New Age and distorted.
I read some of the basics of kaballah and it helped me to be more spiritual and I still believe in Jesus. I never was interested in religion because it is man made.
I go to a non denominational church and only give a few dollars here and there.

What things do you find in the kaballah that make you feel that you can not believe in Jesus?

I agree with the man made religion stuff that's the problem. I have also read the Zohar and I still do on a daily basis. LOOK I NEVER SAID THAT I Don't Believe IN JESUS, I DO Believe IN JESUS its just that I no longer see him as my LORD AND SAVIOUR as the church wants us to believe and brainwash us into believing jesus is the only way to God. Which is completely distorted to me because I believe Gods light lives and shines within us and its our self condition of our soul that leads us to God, we have to do it, jesus does not do it for us.

I believe jesus to be an extra ordinary man he is a patriarch a being that reached levels of spirituality we can only dream off.

They say all roads lead to the airport but that just isn't so.
I don't believe that believing Jesus is Lord and Savior is brainwashing. I don't even think a lot of Churches even really get what that truly means. I believe that the things we learn in our spiritual walk are not the way but only the means and avenue that takes you on the journey. Jesus paid the price for our sins and we can not see him as anything less.

No help that's a lot of references but my views about jesus are certainly different and I don't see them changing. I have finally found something that completes me, I just see jesus as the muslims see mohammed as a prophet of God that came to show us how we should live.

Jesus being the son of god and the saviour of man kind does not work for me anymore.

Did you check the C.S. Lewis link?

I believe believing in Jesus completes what you believe. I really got a lot out of the kaballah and many other things I have studied but it is like being married but seeing your husband as only some guy that lives in the same house as you. Your relationship is not complete if you do not see your husband as your husband.

No help you are right but do you see your husband as your soul mate because kabllah does talk about our road in life and finding our soulmates if you see him as that then I believe the bond of husband and wife intensifies in kaballah terms because soulmate is the other half of your soul reuniting in this world.

So yes the marriage can be more than fulfilling when looking at it through theses eyes:).
This type of view also allows one to feel meaningful and non superficially happiness. If your soul is happy it is the only form of true and pure happiness.:o

That is my point what you learn in your spiritual walk should intensify your relationship and understanding of Jesus as your savior.
So what you just said think of it more along the lines with Jesus.

He is not my saviour i am my own saviour, and its the church that insist on putting jesus in the middle of our relationship with god as has branded him as our lord and saviour and its only through him salvation comes and that is where i disagree with the churches doctrine.

To me their is no better spiritual high than being in the presence of god, mind body and soul, its a high and a light that beams within you, that no preacher can ever find the words to preach to allowing you to enter into such an overwhelming interaction with the creator.

I think that you have answered your own question perfectly. You tell your friends exactly what you told us here. It was beautifully said and I don't see how it could offend anyone.

I must say that I am very envious as I believe you have found the secret to living it total peace and acceptance. I've tried meditation but so far, I'm no good at it. I strive to be like you, because I think you have it right. I still find myself struggling to be "enlightened". Like you though, I don't get it from formal religion. I say "good for you!":)

Jesus suffered for us... but isn't mankind still suffering?
How come God will either send you to heaven or to hell on judgementday... if Jesus already paid the price for our sins?
Why isn't there a choice? What kind of God would he be if he would judge us and not forgive us to let us burn in hell as far as being his children? Maybe we cannot see Jesus as anything less.. but for sure as equal cause he was human and we are all the same... as one... as equal!

To Lighterr: I agree with your new insights and I am very happy for you seeing things this way.
Cozyk already said it: you know exactly what to say and how to deal with the people and friends from church.. just tell them your truth cause that will be your protection.
Peace and happiness on your path!

Hey lighterrr: I'm really new to this askbar thing but I'm really enjoying the commentary I read here. All the responses you seem to be receiving from people seem to be of a christ bias nature, and I commend and challenge all of them. You see I was raised in a strict fundamentalist background and became extremely wore out on church when I was young. As I approached my teen years,I was so worn out by the strict and hypocritical manner I was taught to believe, especially when I asked a question about scripture at the age of 13 and was told that '"it's just the way it is!". So I studied other things Kabbalah, wicca, zoaster, etc. I spent 12 years of my life thinking I had power from all this knowledge I became a egomaniac. So to answer your true question about how to politely defuse christian hysteria by your friends and others, simply tell them that you have prayerfully consider this path, and if they are alarmed that they should pray that the spirit of God show you only his true way of living. This will always present a win win situation, for you because they will most likely drop the evangelistic fervor, and for them because the will have a mission from God on your behalf and that generally pacifies the zeal in a christian. I do feel it only fair to warn you however that this practice on the tree of life is linked to the latter end of Solomons reign, and I'm quite sure you already Know what happened to him and why. If not I urge you to research his biblical history. On yet another note, you mentioned that the spiritual high you receive was a temporary euphoria. Right well you are,my concern is that if you are experiencing this emotional awakening on a continual basis you may be effected by something altogether more powerful than you realize. Please understand I am not trying to condemn you, because I relate to this same experience in my own spiritual journey, and it became even more devastating than any church disorder I experienced. There is an ancient Hebrew proverb which states that,"he who believes in his own heart is a fool." the principle of this saying is simply this, our emotions lie to us. Ask yourself how many times have you been afraid for no real reason or have you felt loved by someone who stabbed you in the back? Christ message is simple and complete, not religious and sensational. I hope this blesses you all in some way,for I lost my life to learn it.grace and peace.

I don't understand what you are getting at here? Could you explain further? "Something all together more powerful than you realize" What does that mean?

How many times? Not really much at all. My "gut" is pretty accurate. I agree with you that Christ's message is SIMPLE and complete. People try to make it complicated, but it is not.

What do you mean that you lost your life. Are you still lost? I'm confused.
