This is very normal for students between late elementary school years and early high school years. Teachers are the first adults we get to know besides our parents, and are similar authority figures. We look up to teachers and are very impressed by how smart they are and how kind they can be to us. I loved my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Hedrick, and have been told by some of my own former students (now adults) that I was their "most favoritest teacher in the whole world."

One teacher wrote a book about this and said, "A classroom where the kids are really crazy about their teacher — that's a terrific classroom. When stress is down, you learn better. When you're feeling good, learning is enhanced, memory is enhanced."

No your not weird. I too had a teacher I loved to be around. She was inspiring, intelligent and quite chaotic in her own way.

    I am with you wondergirl - 100%
