    Ford engine,electrical, or battery
The vehicle is a 1997 Ford F250 apx 150K miles.

The engine seems to be running fine. The problem is when I am at a stop after
About 30 seconds the engine starts to "chug" like there is air coming from the exhaust.
The truck has died a few times but always starts right back up with no problems.
The battery gage is above half. What could this be?
    Thank you for your assistance!

I would change fuel filter at the least.
If tune up has not been done for a while, would do plugs, points, cap, rotor, wires? air, oil, and oil filter at the least, That may solve the problem and should eleminate those as a possibility.

I just noticed yesterday that every once in a while my battery charge meter will suddenly shoot up to 18V (outside of the area marked "NORMAL"), but only stays there for 1-2 seconds then jumps back down to the middle. I am afraid that it might stay there too long and fry something. I understand...

I broke my timing belt last week. I have a '98 Escort w/a 2.0L 4 cyl. Engine. The shop where it got towed to says that it's an interference engine. First off, I called my nephew in NH who has been a mechanic for the past 18 years & he said it's not an interference model. I then checked out The...
