    Pipe repair under slab
Hi I own a 1 story home on a slab. Recently I've had trouble with the drain line that drains from the kitchen/laundry area. I rented a snake and broke the head off it and came back with clay mud on the end. I believe I have a broken pipe under the slab. The pipe is cast 1 1/2"-2" diameter. Judging from the pipes I can see and the main line that I recently dug up I believe they run like the picture below illustrates. Based on how far the snake went in I have marked where I believe the break to be. I was just curious as to what my options were for repair. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matthew,

You only have one option open to you. And that's to take up the cement, bare then pipe and cut out the damaged section of pipe and replace usimg two No-Hub Couplings. Good luck, Tom

Thanks for the quick reply tom. I was afraid of that but I've done worse.;)
Any suggestions as to the best way to locate the break exactly?

There's a company called Sleuth that locates slab leaks that we use. They come out, pinpoint the leak, break up the slab, bare the leak and bag the dirt. All the plumber has to do is repair it put back the dirt and patch the hole. They are a tad pricey but saves you from tearing up your floor looking for the leak. Regards, tom
