    How to install Windows XP on freedos HCL laptop
    I am having a HCL laptop with freedos environment.I have a genuine windows XP cd and I want to install XP on my laptop.. but don't understand what to do... :( please help me out..

    When the laptop starts it shows a dos prompt like this...

    C:/>


    Even if I put d CD in the drive it doesn't do anything..

    Go to bios and change the boot order so that the cd boots before the hard drive then save and restart the computer and it should detect the indows cd

    I am facing same problem. When I am trying to install it a fatal error is showing before appearing partition details. Please help me to solve it out.
