Clients don't pay
If a client is owing money to a company (for a long time) and doesn't pay, is it legal for the company to publish the name of that client in the store (a paper saying that he does not pay)?
Thank you.

This is a legal not a financial issue.
You can definitely put this on an employee bulletin board and by check our registers so he is not sold anything more.
But I would be hesitant about putting up a "wall of shame" showing deadbeats.

Hello 9:
Instead of trying to embarrass him, why don't you sue him, and MAKE him pay you?
Besides, YOU might get sued if you publish your list.

This is why Small Claims Court was invented.

Its actually legal in the US. As long as it's the truth. So I suspect it would be legal in Europe. But I still wouldn't recommend doing it.
It will be more likely to turn off customers.

Very true, it's kind of like winning the battle but losing the war... It will turn off your customers for sure. Judy and Ex are right, sue him.
Have you tried using a collection agency? They will take a percentage of the debt but you will get most of it.

That being the case then I would just follow Scott's advice and post it only for your cashier's to see so that they do not sell anything else to these people...
If it has been that long and nothing can be done then anything else that you do would be out of vengeance only and could come back to 'bite' you.
