lemonlime If the fan motor will not turn more than 2 inches it is a good possibility the motor is bad. Remove and take to electric motor shop for testing or replace. When buying a new motor get a new matching capacitor for it and replace both. If you have a volt meter you can check to make sure 220/240 volts is supplying the motor when the unit is supposed to be running as a test.

Heat Pump blower, and heat, won't turn off- not contr. Bd. [ 0 Answers ]

I've read about blowers (heat pump) that won't shut off, no matter what done to thermostat, and the cause typically being a faulty control board, and/or fan relay on contl. Board. I replaced board, as tech removed green wire to demonstrate it's fault (didn't turn blower off), but tried a brand new...

Fan on heat pump system will not turn off [ 3 Answers ]

My 1 1/2 year old trane heat pump is not blowing warm air when the heat is on. Also, the fan does not turn off at the thermostat. Changed out the thermostat and the heat seemed a little warmer (not much) but fan still does not respond. Any clues?
