Simple, after a discharge is granted you should receive a copy,if by some chance you did not get it ask your attorney. Now that being said how long ago did you file? Was it chapter 7 or 13?

Yes first what type of bankruptcy, a 13 will often take 3 to 4 years from the time you file and a few months after your last payments.

A 7 is normally about 6 months after your last hearing if there is no problems.

But you get a discharge letter from the court.

    Also
    1. it should be listed on your credit report
    2. you can get a copy of the discharge from the court
    3. your attorney should have copy of the discharged.

I filed bankruptcy one year ago; now I have received a summons from one of the creditors. I had 20 days to answer them; subsequently, I sent them a letter along with my discharge papers stating they were listed as one of the creditors. Should I contact an attorney for this matter?
