My speakers crackle when I turn on my exhaust fan!
Is this a worry? My husband just did the hook up for
A exhaust fan in our kitchen.
The first time he used the switch our speakers in the
    TV room crackled.

This happens only with on off or changing the speeds. Any danger?

He thinks it's no big deal, but he is NOT an electrician.

It's radio frequency noise that's being caused by sparking in the electric motor or in the switch. If it only happens when changing speeds, it's probably no big deal.

Light switches "crackle" [ 1 Answers ]

Some light switches make a crackle noise when I turn them on and when I get close to them I smell a sulfur smell. I had an electrician change about 7 of them.. . but now on a few I still get that snapping noise. Should I be concerned?
