    Non taxable income
From Jan. until Dec. I received workman compensation. It was not taxed of course. But I have kids that depend on my tax information for the pell grant. Can I still file my taxes and do I have to report the settlement I received?

In most cases worker compensation is not income. Settlement for injury is not taxable. If it is for lost wages or interest, it is taxable. Read about settlement taxes Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Income Tax Topics 1
