I'm going with a champagne color for the girls dresses. What flower choice would go nicely?? It's a summer wedding. I saw white flowers with that color dress... kinda liked it... but didn't fall in love... thinking it might be too plain?! Any art-sy minds think of a good color combo that will stand out and look beautifuL!

I'm a floral designer, and have been for 22 plus yrs. I love champagne themed weddings. They are my fave to do! Some of the prettiest ones have been Champagne coupled with a celery or celadon green. Calla Lillies, tulips, hydrangeas, cymbidium or phaleanopis orchids (amoung many others) come in a very pretty celadon green, and when coupled with a few different shades of green look very elegant and summery!

Also, the white looks great with champagne, if you pick the right flower! Casablance lillies, and then some different fillers with that light green and some lacy looking white filler (heather, queen annes lace etc) look really pretty too! It's always good to have a contrast in color. Something that will strike your eye.

There are so many colors that go well with Champagne. What other color so you like? There are just so many options. Even black accents if done right can look fantastic! I did one Champagne wedding where both the dresses and the flowers were all champagne, but we added peacock feathers! Then with some of the other decorations, they picked up the stark blue and green, in other areas, to tie it all together. It was beautiful!

Champagne with gold accents added to your bouquet looks very pretty too! The florist can spray accent leaves gold, or just tip them with gold. That gives it a little punch, but is not overstated.

Your choices are really limitless when you go with Champagne. It just takes a little color sometimes to make it pop. White alone might look boring, but add a hint of color, and it looks exciting! In the summer, you have such a wide array of flowers available. I'm assuming you're going with fresh. If you are going with artificial, well then of course you can get any flower anytime!

You also want to take into account where your wedding will be held, and what time of the day. That helps when trying to arrange your colors. For example, if you are having a Champagne themed wedding and reception, and the reception hall has red carpeting or say the walls are brown, you might want to take that into account also.

Do you want to carry something in a bouquet holder? Or would you like to go with hand tied bouquets? Personally, I think the hans tied's look more elegant, but that's up to you. Also, it would be nice to know your budget for flowers and decorations. Some flowers can get really pricey---especially if they are not in season. For example tulips. Although it's not a problem to get them in the summer, they will cost you more than when they are in season. Flowers like some orchids, certain types of lilies, etc. can also run up the bill. I've always been the type of designer to suggest different types of flowers that give the same effect, if the budget is limited.

I just got married on valentines day and I had a very simple bouquet of white flowers that looked so beautiful , my dress was white with a champage lace and ribbon around it could send you a photo if you like ?

It can be very hard to visualize colors for most people. My suggestion is that you take a swatch of your fabric (a big one if you can get one) and look at the flowers you like best next to it. Something will stand out as your favorite.

For an evening wedding, you could have a pretty monochromatic look - whites and creams, some green to make it look fresh and alive - but could find a way to include some sparkle, too - or you can do something really simple like a bunch of tulips tied in a ribbon. Or bunches of hydrangeas that are still greenish. Or you can do a contrast - dark red roses; blush colored flowers; peach or orange with a brownish ribbon... whatever you like the best!
