Washer overflows is pvc set up correctly?
Hi occasionally we will have an overflow from the pvc pipe going to the septic tank. This occurs when we flush the toilet. How are the pvc pipes supposed to be set up? Would it help if I moved the washer upstairs it is in the basement located 1 foot from the septic tank lead in area from basement? Thanks Julee

From 33 years experience with my own septic tank I offer the following: the tank has baffles at the inlet and outlet. DON'T mess with the outlet as it may clog the leach field. The inlet can be safely lifted out to allow accumulated surface scum to flow into the tank. On occasion I have to do this with mine.

Might check to see if your tank needs pumping if not you may have a partial blockage in your line and have to run a snake through it

It may be that your laterals have failed also if that is the case you will have to replace your laterals going to the drain field drains
