    Monteverde Young Dining Room Table
I would like to list a MonteVerde Young dining room table for sale and would like some help with pricing. The table is a 48" Hexagon in mint condition and presently is in Manhattan. I have attached a photo of the table.

    Hi, clarabill98!

That's quite some table that you have there! Does it have any chairs that go with it? How old is it?

From the general size and shape of it, it would seem to me to be more of a game table than a dining room table. Although, I could very well be incorrect about that.

Where were you thinking of listing it, please?

    Thanks!

    Hi Clough:
Thanks for your response. The table is circa 1960 with an inlaid top and sculpted base . It has been rarely used and is "MINT" condition. You're correct as far as its use as a game table or a large center table. I am trying to determine its value and may list it on eBay. We have no chairs for the table.

    Thanks!

One more thing. I inadvertently listed the table as a 48" hexagon. It is a 42" octagon table 28" high.

    Thnaks!

    Hi again, Hi, clarabill98!

What furniture is worth monetarily depends on a number of things, like craftsmanship, rarity, availability, durability, age, appearance, functionality, location where it's being offered for sale, etc. and in the end, what someone would be willing to pay for the piece of furniture.

I've seen some prices for tables by that manufacturer on the Internet. Your table is also more so of a work of art than some of the others that I've seen. So, my guess as far as a possible monetary value for it would be in the $1,900.00 to $2,750.00 range.

eBay isn't the only place to list things for sale. It also might not be the best place and certainly isn't the only place on the Internet where you can list things that you would like to sell. Besides that, it also costs money to use eBay.

If you would like to know about other places on the Internet, where it's free to advertise that also get excellent results, please let me know.

Basically, I would suggest setting your price high at first and see what happens.

I did save one of your images on my computer and enhanced it some, although I haven't posted that yet. Now, images can be deceiving, but is there possibly a whitish, oval-shaped area in the center of the table top? Also, are all of the outer edges of the table free and clear of imperfections, please?

    Thanks!

    Hi Clough:
Thank you for your comments on this beautiful table. It has been carefully packed and stored in a climate control warehouse. When it was stored it was in mint condition no scratches major or minor anywhere on the surface. I would appreciate any suggestions as to where I could list the table for sale other than eBay. I have many other items in the furniture collectibles category that I would like to list as well.

    Thanks!

Here are links to some sites that also get great exposure when people advertise for various things. I know this to be true because I've been doing online advertising for over three years now and know what sites are good and those that aren't. None of the sites listed cost any money to post on them. However, how you word an ad is of the utmost importance. If you would like help with how to word ads, please let me know.

    Thanks!

The sites that I've listed can work just as well as eBay. But, it's very important as to how you word the ads.

    Thanks!

If you post a sample ad without any contact information in it, I can help you as to how you might word it best. Having your location in it would be okay, though.

    Thanks!

    Hi again, clarabill98!

Below, is a suggested re-wording of your ad. Basically, your information is good. But, we do need to put some words in the ad so that it will be found according to your location and the type of table it is. I put some fictitious locations in your ad to give you an idea as to how to do that.

[Title] Moteverde Young Table for Sale

This "Monteverde Young" Circa 1960 42”x42”x28” octagon table has an expertly crafted inlaid top with a magnificent sculpted pedestal base. This work of art in "mint" condition is being offered for sale at $2,750.00 US

Under no conditions will returns be accepted or refunds issued once the table has been loaded.

Please contact the seller for payment instructions and shipping details.

Keywords: Tables for sale in Los Angeles California, California furniture for sale, dining room furniture and accessories in Napa Valley, rare table, collectible tables for sale, antique furniture for sale in San Diego California, art tables, beautiful and artfully decorated tables for sale, wood table, collectibles in California, Anaheim, Beaumont, Berkeley, Modesto, etc.
The thing is, that people might find what you have to sell if you put other words in the ad that will attract them to other things. Someone might find you by accident that way and offer to purchase what you have, simply because they found you by accident when looking for something else.

There are other titles that could be used, but I'm going to have to do some thinking about that.

    Thanks!

I know this thread is from last month, but I'm caught on something. I also see a large round stain, and it's in all three pictures. It is not a reflection from an overhead light. It's exactly the kind of mark a vase would leave. The other white streaks could be from a poor wax job. I also have a couple of questions about possible wear and tear on the corners, even if it is light.

I know there's a claim of mint condition, but those markings aren't coming out of nowhere. Mint means zero defects. It's possible that some of the issues showing up in the photos were not apparent because of improper lighting. If there are any issues and there is a claim of mint condition, you can wind up with problems down the road from the buyer, who would certainly be in the right.

Clara, did you sell this table? If so, what route worked and what routes didn't? Were there any issues brought to your attention by the buyer?

    Hi, Linny!

I too, noticed the marks that you've seen and asked about them in post #5. But, you have made some excellent and valid points in your post!

    Thanks!

Hi clough! Yes, I should have put your post in quotes to make that more clear. I know you're able to zoom into images, and you don't say something if you don't see it. I see it. If it isn't mint, I hope no unsuspecting buyer bought it over the internet under that title. There were an extra amount of "no refund" bits in the ad. Things could get complicated.

I hope clara comes back to post.

I'm wondering how your value search played out for your Monteverde Young table. I'm in the same boat you were back in Jan.
I have a Monteverde office desk and credenza I'm planning to sell. I have no idea of its current value.
If you found a source of good information relative to pricing or anything else about Monteverde Young, I'd appreciate it if you could share that info with me.
    Thank you,

    Hi, Earl!

I'd be happy to help you figure out a possible price for what you have! But, I would suggest that you start a new thread about that since this one is now somewhat dated and it is someone else's thread.

I'm also sorry! But, I did need to remove your phone number and personal email address. I would hate to see you get spammed because your contact information was visible here.

Also, all information does need to stay right on the threads so that others can benefit by the information that's given, in case they might have a similar question.

    Thanks!
