    Bath tub overflow leak
My bath tub overflow leaks down stairs. I know it is the leak but I can't remove the overflow cap, the screw just turns. It is a single screw and there is no remote drain lever. Any ideas on how to remove the cap so I can replace the seal and cap?

I have run into this before

Put a screwdriver under the overflow cap and pry up and outward while you are turning the screw out. Keep a constant pressure until you get the screw started... then grab it with water pump pliers or a needlenose pliers and spin screw out while pulling forward on the screw.

Let me know if that is possible?
