    6 year old with caps
I am a school nurse and have "pulled" many teeth over the last 6 years. However today I was contacted about a parents concerns over pulling a child's tooth that had a cap on it. I had removed a loose tooth which had a cap yesterday for their daughter, and they were concerned about it. They had been told the dentist had to pull them. I have never heard of this before-can anyone give input? Nurse Peggy

    Hi Peggy,
I have no idea why the dentist would have to remove the tooth unless he plans on reusing the crown (a little disgusting if you ask me). As long at there was no root left in the gum after removing the tooth I don't see a problem. I'm sure the root was resorbed or it wouldn't have come out so easy.
