Strange lumps on face and scalp that ache
I recently noticed a lump formation near the hairline in my scalp. It is flat and odd shaped. I discovered it when it began to have an itch. A few days later, a knot came up like overnite in my jaw area, in front of the right ear. It was painful to the touch and noticeable. A couple of days after that, another lump formation appeared in my right eyebrow. It had an itch to it too. There seemed to be swelling in between all three areas, but not on the lumps and knot itself. I feel feverish in these areas and they slightly itch and have a burning sensation. When I woke this morning my face hurts in these areas and have had a dull headache all day. There seems to also be a peircing pain like a sharp shooting pain now and then that just suddenly appears and goes away. I would go to the emergency room just for some peace of mind, but I do not have insurance. I took Benadryl hoping it would clear it up. This has been noticeable for 1 week.

I have had a sinus cold, I am at the age I could be premenopausal, I have been under some stress and I do not believe it is an insect bite, because there is no open skin. The lumps and knots appear to be hard , just under the skin and not movable.

Do you have any ideas what could cause these crazy symptoms? I definitely have not bumped my head.. they are unexplainable.

    Thank you

I just got a bad allergic reaction to a black hair dye. It started with the same lump and almost a week later I had to go to the dermatologist for a cortizone shot.

The Doctor said it can take up to 7 days for your body to react to a new allergy.

Do you have an itchy scalp? Is your scalp wet like an open wound? Do you have lumps under your skin on the back of your had and neck?

If so go buy a Peppermint Oil based leave in conditioner and leave it on your hair after you shower. It will help you make it through the night without itching. You can leave it in during the day to if you wear a head wrap or bandana.

And call a dermatologist to get a shot. My reaction took over a week in a half to develop so catch it before it gets worse.
