    Frostbite pain
I was in the TV business and I was a cameraman. As it turned out, I became a cold weather specialist and I made a ton of money. But I have been frostbit more times than I can remember. Four times doctors thought I was going to loose fingers and toes. But I didn't, but now I had to move back home to Michigan from southern Florida. The cold is running my life.

I go outside and it feels like someone stomped on my hands and feet within seconds. I have my house at 72F and I have 3 shirts, one sweater, 4 layers of socks and 2 pairs sweatpants and I'm freezing. I stay in my bedroom because I have a heater going 24/7 and matteress pad heater and an electric blanket. It may because of my cancer and the experinental chemo that stopped my heart and saved me.

What can I do to be comfortable and deal with this problem? Silk underlayer? Thinsolite? I used to do that in my outdoor show days but its expensive. What can I wear to be comfortabe again? After two or three ex-wives and cancer, money is a slight problem. I don't want to wear gloves in the house. But I do when no one's here. Everyone thinks that I just a whiner. Is there anything I can do?

    Perry

PS: sorry about my typing but I have gloves on. OH., moving is is not an option.

Skunkman - I told you in your other post to try Niacinamide 500 mg several times a day. YOu cannot OD on Niacinamide either no matter how much you take of it. Also, I read recently that the B-3 (niacinamide) is used to help Alzheimer's patients get better. I have been taking this now for several months and I find that I am much, much warmer. I take one capsule in the AM, 2 at lunch, and 1 at night before going to sleep. I have a condition called Raynaud's Phenomenon that I've had since I was a child where my hands and feet go ice cold (even in 90 degree weather in the summertime) and the only thing that would help me before niacinamide was a scalding hot bath. Please give it a try. You can buy the capsules at Walmart for about $6 a bottle.

Also try a hat. That helps me a lot. The fleece stuff is great. I wear one to bed at night to keep my head warm. Also get some thermal shirts and thermal bottoms. They work great as an underlaywer under sweaters and long sweatpants.

Also, what is your body temperature? Is it 98.6? Or is it something like 97.2? I take my temp several times a day. Very rarely is it ever 98.6 even in the summer. The trick you seem to be missing is that you need to warm your body from the inside, not the outside.
