Cold air vent blowing all the time
    Hi,
I have a cold air return vent on the floor in my livingroom. For years we have noticed that the cold air return vent blows cold air into the house all day/night. We have had to put towels over it to keep the temperature in the house comfortable. We notice it mostly in the winter months. Our house is very old and we had to replace the furnace under the house about 6 years ago. What can I do to help the cold air stay out?

A cold air vent is not supposed to blow but it should take in air to be heated. If it is blowing cold air out it is time to have someone check the furnace for proper connections or to add insulation to that part of the duct.

Hoping for help here. I recently had my ignitor replaced. Before that, the furnace wasn't working at all. A/C blowing but not cold [ 2 Answers ]

I recently noticed a loud tapping sound coming from my exterior a/c unit. The a/c was working great but the noise was very loud so I opened the top to remove a piece of plastic that was being hit by the fan. After replacing the top the a/c blows, but is not cold. I didn't do anything but open it...

Cold Air Registers Blowing Cold Air [ 3 Answers ]

Our cold air registers are blowing cold air worse than if the windows were open. The hot air registers blow cold air but not as forceful (maybe because they are 1/3 the size of the returns) This only happens when the furnace is off and we are heating with the wood stoves. We have metal ducting...
