Water flow is weak from the bathroom tap.
    Hi All,

Right its my first time here and first time in a new house, and first time dealing with anything "plumby" - so laymens responses PLEASE.
As said, I have moved into a place, it appears that the previous owner has bought a new sink to jazz up the tired bathroom - I think she was a bit of a DIY enthusiast.
My problem is, whilst thee sink looks lovely, the water flow from the faucet is really poor.
It's a single tap (if that makes any odds?! ) - with the hot and cold water coming from the one mixer depending on which way the handle is turned.
From what I can see, looking under the sink - there are no valves or bits that I can tamper with in order to improve the flow. I have seen this same sink unit in Argos and it is a very basic "screw-it-in-your-self-type-jobby"... so what else can I do to try and solve this?
    - If there are no valves and bits under the sink - where else would they be?

All the other taps etc in the hse are fine.

    Please anyone...
(remeber laymens answers please... in graphic detail, step by step instruction if poss)... Thanks. X

The very first thing I would check is the aerator,(see image) Check and clean the screens. Turn the water on with the aerator removed. Do you get a stream now? Let me know, Tom

Brilliant - I'll that a go when I get in this eve...
Actually that thingy - (aerator) looks familiar.
I thought it was a nut/bolt holding the pipe in.
Will advise on any success tomoro. Ta

    Speedball...

Right I had a look at the taps... think I found the aerator... right at the mouth of the tap right?. took it off, rinsed it out - but no improvement - tried runnign the tap without it on.. but it seemed worse - a bit "spluttery".
Have also cheack the rear of the unit, nothing else apears to look like the gadget you posted me... The only other connections are the two shiny new tap pipes which are connected to the old main pipes which run from behind the bath... these are held on with nuts...

    Any other suggestions?
