A couple days ago I made a stupid mistake and walked out of a department store with merchandise near 90$. I was caught, brought back, given a trespass order, and the store will be charging me for what I stole, their employees' time, customer distress. The police have charged me with theft and possession under $5000. I'm 23, F, and really really regretful. This is my first offence, and I live in Canada. What am I looking at, in terms of a fine? Is there any way I can get this to not show on my record?

I did the same thing when I was younger but the police were not called... I was fined $350

I don't know if it showed on my record... I haven't needed to have mine checked by anyone since that time.

If charges are pressed you are facing a misdemeanor or a felony. Try to work it out with the store or have an attorney work it out with them before charges are filed. Most probably you are looking at fines and some community service. You many have jail time, depending on the DA and what the judge orders.
