Does anyone know what the proper drop is for a tablecloth for an informal wedding reception?

Hmmm, I am not aware that informal versus formal would change it significantly but I thought drop is customarily 6-8". Don't ask me how I know this stuff! Also please consider that since it is informal, you may do what you think looks best too? Rules such as these have really relaxed over the years. We didn't want fabric dragging in everyone's lap at my wedding so the corners were gathered to tighten/raise up the sides and fixed with oversized gauze bows - it actually looked good enough to make Colin Cowie proud. Happy Nuptials!

Hello! Could use some advice... we live in a rural area where it seems to be custom to asking neighbors (invited as guests) to help clean up the bride/groom's table, doing dishes, setting out food on buffet arranged tables, etc. My husband and I always argue every time I get one of these invites...
