    F1 to L2.
I am currently in the US on F1.
During my program, I observed that a lot of companies do not entertain international students for summer internships as well as full time positions.
Now my wife is joining me on L1B from her company. Her company is ready to sponsor my L2.
    I have the following questions:
    1. What is the procedure for me to change my F1 visa to L2 vis? Will I have to travel to India for restamping?
    2. Once I get my L2, will I be able to continue my education in US?
    3. Once I get an L2, will a company in US need to do any documentation while taking me for summer internship or full time position?

The fact is F-1 holders are not permitted to get SSN or to work. This is against the laws and in case where employers need to submit result of background check through E-Verify to DHS. This is the reason why you had hard time finding job.

    1. Talk to the attorney who filed her petition.
    2. Yes.
    3. You will be able to obtain SSN and legally work.
