    & When My Program Is Finished Executing Then XP Gives Desktop.

    SECOND QUESTION!

    Use notepad and load your DOS Program by entering a line in the Autoexec.bat file in your root directory. Autoexec.bat is probably hidden. If you are using XP go to Tools/Folder Options/View and click the "Show hidden Files" radio button.

    Let's say you want to run notepad before windows loads. Enter this line
    c:\Winnt\System32\notepad.exe

    Save the file and close.

    Windows runs Autoexec.bat before it loads the Windows kernel.

    Programs that you want to load before users log on should be dragged or copied to the Startup directory from the Programs menu of your start bar. You will probably see a few of them in there already (Like your virus checker). I am not sure what order they load in. I'd just drag it there and see what happens.

    ================================================== ======

    This is great fun. Create an icon for you DOS program on the desktop. I don't have any old DOS programs around, but once you've got the icon on your desktop, right-click on it. Open Properties and click on the Compatibility tab. You can use these settings to try to get the program to run. That is if it doesn't.
