    DV Video Capture
    Hello,

This question is for those familiar with DV video capturing on PC.

I have two Panasonic DV cameras - a handheld miniDV (PV-GS12) and a shoulder mount miniDV camera (AG-DVC15).

    The Problem I Am Having:
For some reason, I cannot get the tapes to play in opposite cameras - only the camera itself will play the tape it recorded. I want to know how I can make the format universal so any camera can play back the miniDV tape.

When played back, the video is a bit distorted and the audio cuts in and out on both cameras.

Both cameras are set in SP.
Both have the ability to playback and record 12 bit and 16 bit.

Is there some sort of setting or bitrate or something that needs to be adjusted?

Thanks... still learning the new camera!

Hi, All hard drives in the mini are rated at 5400 rpm. This being the case, what is the suitability of this unit to capture video? I know I'd have to get an external converter and firewire it to the Mini. Also is firewire 400 OK to use in this way? Thanks.
