    I want another kitten!
Ok I already have one kitten.. she will be a yr old on July 15! Her name is Tinx.. She is my baby.. she is so spoiled! But I want to get another kitten so Tinx has someone to play with while we are away at work! The only problem she doesn't seem to get along very well with other cats.. I guess she is so used to being the only cat! I don't know how to go about getting her used to other cats! I mean she likes certain dogs.. but I can't get a dog.. I want another kitten so any help would be great! Thanks!!

    This has worked for us:

Get a new cat and keep it in a bathroom for a couple of days. Your cat will smell it and get used to it a bit before seeing it.

After 2-3 days let the new one out.

Expect a little of them not getting along, but your cat should adjust just fine.

    Hi,
I agree with the answer before mine. When your cat gets use to the new one, and learns there is no "threat" from it, or from you liking it better, it won't be as "jealous"... will take some time.
    Best of luck.

    Right OK.
Firstly as Tinx is female... you have to get a male!
    That's the trick... :)

I was exactly in the same shoes as you. I had 1 cat all alone for 4 years.. and again same as you I wanted to get him another cat so he won't be so lonely while we at work.
When I got rosey for him she was only 1 year old, and he immediately liked her and accepted, she used to hiss at him and hide for about 4-5 days but slowly she got used to him.
When you first get a new cat always make sure you at home and watch over them for 24hrs so you see there reaction with each other.

Get Tinx another cat... she will love it :)
Oh and make sure they are also both neutered.
    She tinx neutered?

My cousin is in the process of getting me a boy cat..but she hasnt found out the sex of the cat yet...she also wants to give me siblings...because she doesnt want them to be separated..which is understandable..I just dont want Tinx to think I am replacing her...because Im not, shes my baby!!! I mean she hissed at my cousins cats and everything and they didnt come near her...I dont want to have an anti-social cat ya know? Thanks for all of your help!!

Thats the thing my cousin wants to give me two..but I feel like that would put a bit much for Tinx to get used too at one time!!! I dont want her 'acting' out so to speak ya know? I just want her to have someone to play with!! Thanks

    I agree.
2 is too much for your Tinx to handle at once...
Cats are very jealous and curious animals and with 2 new ones on the go will def be tricky for her.
Get her 1 male, and I'm sure she'll be fine.
