    Pop up bath drain
    I have a step on drain in my shower/tub. I took it out to clean some hair and gunk, but now I can't seem to get it back in properly. It has a brass screw that attaches it to the drain and a sliding plastic body that clicks up and down to seal the drain hole. It doesn't seem to seat completely after reinstallation. Does anyone know how to adjust this type of drain? Thanks for any help.

    That brass bolt is threaded into the drain body and then your stopper threads onto it. The bolt can turn in the body as well as in the stopper, just keep turning several more full turns.

    Thanks for the quick response. I just have to turn that big standard screw head, and that will draw the pop up body closer to the drain? And then the stopper head screws on to the top? Is the pop up itself adjustable in any way, or is all the adjustment done with the brass screw?

    The brass screw is your only adjustment.

    If I get this issue right... click the stopper so that it is in the UP mode (pretend to step on it a couple times). Then install the part with screw at its longest... then screw on stopper cap.

    It really doesn't matter if the pop up is in the up or down position. It is independent of the open/shut system. The brass screw only goes so far; after I turned it in till it bottomed out everything worked fine.
