    writing out a balanced equation.
    it wants me to write out a balanced chemical equation only giving me this

    NaHCO3 + HCl ->

    and

    KHCO3 + HCl ->

    I'll do the first one for you. Then do the second one to see if you understood, OK?

    NaHCO3 + HCl -> NaCl + H2O + CO2

    Notice that when an acid is added to a metal carbonate (but here it is a hydrogen carbonate, but the reaction is nearly the same), carbon dioxide is gien off, and a salt is produced. The salt is NaCl, and CO2 is the carbo dioxide. The substances left are O and 2 H. They will combine to form water. Now, try to do the second one on your own.
