Conformity in the play the Crucible
How do identify the forces that cause conformity in the play (the crucible) and demonstrate the effects that this extreme conformity has on specific characters' lives?

I don't understand what conformity means, and what examples should I use to put it in an 3 to 5 page essay?

Conformity means changing to the more popular side and now following what you believe in

Example: tituba admits she saw the devil to avoid being whipped by rev. hale and parris, and to avoid being hung

Mary warren ends up saying she did in fact see spirits and agrees with abigail, even though she knows proctor is right
