    Bang/Thump noise upon shutoff
My question is this: I have a 1999 ColemanEvcon furnace/heatpump (not sure of model) & every time the unit shuts off after its cycle there is a loud bang noise for a second or two heating or cooling & was wondering what that may be? Blower motor/bearings gone bad? On the other hand when it's in the emergency heat mode& the cycle is nearng the end the blower does slow for a few min then shuts off without any noise at all. Please can someone tell me what it could be? Thanks in advance, Joe... :o

That is because in them mode, the compressor is not running. Could be the compressor is going bad or the rubber groments on the compressor are worn or dry rotted
