For what they are, they're about the biggest, so in that respect, I guess many would say "the best", but 2 problems:

    1. You risk being a party to the illegal activity of downloading copyrighted material, and

    2. A lot of porn and advertisements named as non-copyrighted materials.

it's okay. Pretty fast depending on your own computer speed, and a lot of choices all the time. However, it only has 98% of the music out there. My personal list for downloads is:

    1. windowsmedia.com OR gendou.com (anime stuff only)
    2. limewire
    3. Google

but then again, I don't have a long list of download sites x__x

I had troubles in that I couldn't figure out how to turn off my firewall so others could download off me, as if I'd want to. Who turns off their firewall?

Consequently, people I would want to DL from kicked me off or refused the connection when they saw that I did not have any songs to offer.

Tha's pretty rude, actually... lol... I 've been using limewire with, (so far), no problems... and, I turned off my firewall to allow them to get stuff from my library.
There are others popping up all the time, but right now I don't remember off hand. If u are interested, reply this one and I'll come up with the ones I was recommended as well.

    Peace,

Limewire is good for finding relevant material, but it is so big that there is also has A lot of bugs and porn on it. (which is fine if you want that :p)

So, just watch what you download, and if it's a program you are after, make sure it comes to something round the approx file size, if its really little and your downloading a game that should be 400MB its most probably a nasty little virus!
