    Relocate toilet 5 feet
What size waste line is typically installed for toilets? Can I use an existing old 2 inch shower waste line for the toilet waste line?

    Hi Bradley46:

I am afraid that a 2" drain line simply will not work as a toilet waste line.

Code requires a minimum 3" waste line with a 2" VENT. Most likely will need to chase that 2" shower drain back to the 3" pipe, cut in 3" wye fitting (or a 45/90 degree fitting) and then run 3" over to the toilet.

Let me know if have more questions..especially regarding how to connect into 3" pipe and proper fittings/clamps to use... ;)
