Granddaughter's Smile!
Hello,
My Granddaughter is in need of dentistry.
The family is broke up, and there's really no money.
Although I'm not working, I'm going to try and get her help.
She has a crooked tooth in front, and another that didn't come through all the way.
I think this is due to her mouth is too small. Looks to me like she needs one of the teeth pulled.
My question is: do I take her to an orthodontist or a dentist?

To a dentist first so he can assess and then he will refer to a specialist.

Her one tooth may not have properly come in yet. You did not state how old she was.

Thanks for the responses.
Granddaughter will be 11 in Sept.
Due to financial strain, did not want to take her to two docs if one would do.

You could take your granddaughter to an orthodontist for a consult without seeing a general dentist first but orthodontists don't remove teeth so a general dentist would have to be involved.
Good luck to you both.

Take her to the dentists first... someone who you know is good with child patients... he will do the referral... the reasoning is that he/she needs to look at the overall picture before a referral is done... getting braces is not a priority if she has cavities.. its just part of overall oral health
