    Formatting software
    Hi,

I have this old CPU, which I need to reformat. But it seems that my CD ROM is not that functioning. Please teach how can I format a hardisk with the use of Floopy disk drive, or can you please send me a website that can help me do this.

    Thank you very much.

    Br,
    Yolly;)

Well you can quite easily format your hard drive without the use of a CD drive. The trouble is - what will you do with the PC once it is wiped? Without a CD drive - how are you going to reinstall anything on the PC?

Now you said this was an old PC so I'm going to assume that it's got an old version of Windows (Windows ME or eariler). Let us know if you have Windows XP and we'll give you better instructions.

First thing you'll need is a startup disk. Here are some instructions for that:

Then as for formatting you hard drive (follow the "Dos - C Drive" instructions):

I'm just too lazy to write the instructions myself...

    Hi,
I agree with the previous answer in regards to a "not that functioning" cd-rom drive.
If you mean that it will not work most of the time, like open or close, when trying to insert a CD into it, then formatting the hard drive will not be of much use, unless you are going to buy a new cd-rom drive.
I do wish you the best.
