    Hi Roulette,

There are a number of ways they can do this, I will explain the two main methods below:

    1. The main way they obtain email addresses is through websites. Whenever you enter your email address in a form on a website this company then has the information. They can use this to spam you or they can sell this to other people who may spam you and so on.

    2. Random strings. Spammers can generate random strings for usernames and then send these off to domains and they hit random targets. Ie an email like [email protected] is not hard to generate as a random string so the longer and more unique the email is the more difficult it is to generate.

    Hope that helps you,
    SCUD :)
