Live in NJ, work IN NY
This year I received 2 W2's (though I have just one job and one source of income). The Federal data is the same on both W2's. The state data is different, One states NJ in Box 15, They did not exculde the 403(b) contributions and so the number is higher than the federal wages (box 1). The other W2 states NY in Box 15 and accurately reflects the wages. When I use Turbo tax to file NJ taxes it includes income from both W2's. i.e.. It adds up the income reported from NY to the one reported from NJ (even though it is the same income!). i.e. the state wages are double of the federal wages! Please help!

If you have two W2's from one employer with the same federal data, one of those W2's could be a corrected form (it would have a small tick at the top or say W-2C). Then just toss the "uncorrected" one and use corrected.

    Vaya's advice sounds right on.

Let us know if the W-2 was a corrected copy.

Have you found an answer yet. I am having the same problem. I filed my return but I was not able to e-file because I put in a w-2 with only the box 18 info in it rest of the tax info was zeroed out.

Please do not tag a new question onto an old one - especially one that is over 4 years old!

Before helping you on this we need to know a few more details - how many W2's do you have, what are the entries in the various boxes of the W2's, where do you live, where do you work, and finally - what exactly is your question?
