    Toyota Corolla 1995 AC Compressor
My 95 Corolla has an AC compressor pulley that has locked up & thrown the belt. Can't turn the pulley by hand at all & the clutch does not respond when jumped to the battery. No leaks in the system & the engine speed controls & button light suggest that the controller doesn't know there's a problem (appears to be normal operation). My question is this: is this to likely be limited to a clutch failure or can I plan on finding a completely destroyed compressor? What would really be cool is a trick to figure out which without opening any refrigerant lines.

The clutch hub and coil can be replaced separately from the entire compressor, but they may not be easily removed without possibly damaging the nose of the compressor.
