"they let me down" my new poem,
    Does everyone break their promises?
Does everyone in the end let you down?
Why do they avoid making promises,
    When sometimes I need them,
    To further my hope,
    To be able to cope.

    Does everyone lie,
    Then can't tell you why?

Do they try to protect you,
Well someone's got to tell them,
    Hiding the truth,
    Pushes me away.
It doesn't make it an easier day,
    Cause ignorance...
    IS NOT BLISS!

Can I ever count on anyone?
    To be there for me?
To be my knight in shining armor,
    To rescue me!

Or will they all let me down?
    Take my heart,
    Then toss it around.
    Must I live solitude?

Or learn to trust a few,
    How do I know,
    Who won't break me,
    Hurt me,
    Inside.
    Force me to go away,
    Force top hide.

    Does everyone break their promises?
    Does everyone let you down?
    Am I they only one,
Who I can trust not to let me down.
Or am I just like them,

    Hiding,
    And lying,
    And serectly crying,
Not telling me what I need to know,
    But I figured it out,
    And so now I know,
    That they lie,
    To me.
    Hiding the truth,
    To protect me.

    All I want to know,
Is does everyone break their promises,
    And in the end,
    Let you down?

That is a very touching poem Sunny. I hope that's not how you feel though! :(

I don't know a whole lot about poetry, but it was well thought out. There are a few typo's, and maybe a few small punctuation and sentence structure errors, but other than that, I think you did a very good job! :D

Keep it up my girl! I enjoy reading your poems! :)

    Hugs!

I am a little more optimistic then the poem would protrey, it not that I am feeling this its more of me asking a question rather than saying thia is how I feel. And I am talking about specific induviuals, so I don't think alll people are like this. I just have been dissapointed one too many times.

Well, I sure know how it feels to be disappointed by people, as well as most people have. I've had a little more than my share, but it happens, and you can't control what other people do. But, you can control what you do, and what you learn from your disappointments. In other words, some people suck! LOL! :p

OH sonador it made me cry... and it takes a lot to make me cry.

Your learning with love comes the need to protect, sometimes people lie to protect and it ends up hurting. With age will come understanding that your loved ones usually try to do what is right, the best that they know how. You can't hate anyone for that.

Or learn to trust a few,
    How do I know,
    Who won't break me,
    Hurt me,
    Inside.
    Force me to go away,
    Force top hide.

You learn to trust you, to do what is always right for you and then you can handle lifes disappointments, knowing that you love yourself... that makes it easier to trust others.
