    Maytag dryer won't cut off
My Maytag dryer won't cut off in timer mode or sensor mode. We replaced the timer and that didn't help. What else could it be?

Could be a small contactor stuck in the on position. Maybe.

Without specific details on type and history of this dryer it is near impossible to provide a proper advice.

    - what model is this dryer? From what year ?
    - did the problem appear suddenly or develop slowly over time ?
    - if not in timer or sensor mode, when does the dryer switch off?
    - did you check if the timer is actually powered, i.e. is running?
    - do you have a multi meter or volt meter to do some checks?
    - are you prepared and capable to do some electric measurements ?

    :)

Dryer doesn't start up. Pushing the start button makes the normal "start" sound, but does actually start dryer. My wife did this the first time it stopped working. She stated that she could smell an "electrical smell". Where do I start?

Maytag gas dryer [ 2 Answers ]

My maytag dryer, model ldg482 runs but the heat does not come on. The igniter comes on but the gas doesn't ignite. Any suggestions?? The owners manual is totally useless and I'm reluctant to call in a service man to look at it since I have a complete tool shop and all tools to do anything.
